Do you know that your car very likely has ISOFIX??
Since February 2006,
all new car models must be equipped with the standardised ISOFIX and top tether
anchorage points. From 2011 European regulations require all cars to adhere to
this standard.
What is ISOFIX?
In 1997, BRITAX launched ISOFIX together with VW in the Golf V. Yet, this
safety system has become an international installation interface for
standardised anchorage points between a child seat and a vehicle. It minimises
installation errors and optimises protection through a rigid connection to the
car chassis.
Why ISOFIX?

Only 30% of child seats are installed correctly when using an adult seat belt, 96% when using the ISOFIX system!*

The ISOFIX system also reduces the forward and sideward movement of the seat and limits rotation through a foot prop or top tether (universal or semi-universal seats).
The
ISOFIX system makes installation and removal quick and easy, in other words, it
gives you peace of mind when fitting a child seat and reduces the risk of
misuse.
The BRITAX ISOFIX SYSTEM with Pivot Link explained what is it and why is it better?
Since we launched the first car seats with ISOFIX we have
developed this system further and made it even safer. Our Pivot Link system is
part of our technical programme that we call Energy Management Control where we
aim to significantly redirect the forces on the child that occur in a
crash.
The Pivot Link is using ISOFIX connectors with L-shape latches
that additionally reduces the movement of the child and diverts the forces
mainly downwards rather than forward. This means a significant relief for the
childs body.

What is ISOFIT?
The ISOFIT system is the group 2-3 specific solution that uses ISOFIX
anchorages and latches in combination with the vehicles lap and diagonal
seat belt. The seat is also designed to control and manage the energy for
enhanced safety in frontal accidents. |
